PJM Study: Grid Can Remain Reliable As More Natural Gas, Renewables Added
A study released by PJM found that the grid operator’s system can remain reliable even as fewer fuel sources are used to produce power. It concluded that the RTO’s current mix of generating fuels is dependable and diverse, and stated that the system can remain reliable even as more natural gas and renewable resources come online. But it also found that reliance on any one fuel type could impact resiliency.
