GDF SUEZ Subsidiary Sponsors “Caps Off” Program Hosted by WITF-TVProgram Will Provide Insight into Pennsylvania’s Energy Rate Cap Removal

HOUSTON – November 24, 2009 – GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA, the retail energy business of GDF SUEZ Energy North America, today announced it is co-sponsoring WITF-TV’s “Caps Off” program, airing Wednesday, November 25th at 8:00 pm. This public forum will provide Pennsylvania viewers with advice and information regarding the elimination of electricity rate caps on January 1, 2010 in Pennsylvania Power and Light’s (PPL) service territory. The informative discussion will re-air on December 26th and January 2nd at 3:00 pm and also be available for viewing via WITF’s Web site, www.WITF.org.

The “Caps Off” forum is part of WITF’s 15-month initiative to update and empower Pennsylvania consumers in light of the current energy rate cap removal scheduled to take place in January. The campaign consists of several media components and, for this particular forum, Smart Talk host Nell McCormack Abom will moderate.

Panelists include:

• James Cawley, Chairman of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission

• Sonny Popowsky, PA Consumer Advocate

• David DeCampli, President of PPL Electric Utilities

• Andrew Kleit, Professor of Energy and Environmental Economics, Penn State

“We are very thankful to have the support and input of our sponsors, panelists and audience at our public forum,” said Cara Fry, Vice President of Content and Production for WITF. “Our goal is to clearly define for Central Pennsylvanians all options regarding electricity choice while promoting energy conservation as a whole.”

GDF SUEZ—the sole Retail Energy Provider (REP) sponsoring the event—is one of eleven licensed suppliers currently offering customers competitive product options in the PPL market territory. GDF SUEZ offers its products to the non-residential retail energy market.

“We are excited to work with WITF-TV to bring information to Pennsylvania businesses to help them stay up- to-date on current market trends and make the most informed decisions possible regarding their electricity,” said Bob Wilson, President and CEO, GDF SUEZ Energy Resources.

GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA is the second largest non-residential retail energy supplier in the U.S. and currently serves commercial and industrial customers in 11 markets: Delaware, Texas, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C.
