GDF SUEZ Subsidiary Sponsors Coca-Cola Golf Event Benefiting C5 Youth Foundation

HOUSTON – October 20, 2009 – GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA, the retail energy business of GDF SUEZ Energy North America and the largest electricity provider for Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE), will be a Gold Level sponsor of the C5 Coca-Cola Golf Classic at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta on October 25-26. The event will benefit the C5 Youth Foundation, a leadership development program for high-potential young people living in risk-filled environments.

“We are grateful for the support of GDF SUEZ, both as a supplier and as a supporter of the C5 Youth Foundation,” said Jeff Cohen, Executive Director, C5 Youth Foundation of Georgia. “The C5 Coca-Cola Golf Classic will help 1,300 teens from eighth to twelfth grades achieve their full potential, for the betterment of themselves, their families, and their communities, and we value GDF SUEZ’s role in making this event a success.”

The C5 Youth Foundation, formerly known as Camp Coca-Cola, began in 2001. C5 is an intensive, year- round five-year leadership development program for high-potential teens from risk-filled environments. C5 inspires young people to be character-driven, community-focused, challenge-ready, college-bound, and committed to a better future. While the C5’s concept and model was developed by the Coca-Cola system, the C5 Youth Foundation programs are now independently incorporated 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. Since the first C5 Coca-Cola Golf Classic in 2006, the event has generated nearly $900,000 for C5 programs across the country. GDF SUEZ Energy Resources also was a sponsor of the C5 Coca-Cola Golf Classic in McKinney, Texas, in August.
“GDF SUEZ supports a number of programs that benefit children and teens throughout the country, so sponsorship of the C5 Coca-Cola Golf Classic is a perfect fit for us,” said Bob Wilson, president and CEO, GDF SUEZ Energy Resources. “As a company, we continuously seek out ways to connect with our customers on multiple levels, and sponsoring events like this one allows us to support Coca-Cola Enterprises in its charitable endeavors.”

Coca-Cola Enterprises is the world’s largest marketer, producer, and distributor of Coca-Cola products, selling approximately 80 percent of The Coca-Cola Company’s bottle and can volume in North America. CCE is the sole licensed bottler for products of The Coca-Cola Company in Belgium, continental France, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Monaco, and the Netherlands. In the United States, GDF SUEZ Energy Resources supplies approximately 20 percent of Coca-Cola Enterprises’ total electricity load.

GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA is the second largest non-residential retail energy supplier in the U.S. and currently serves commercial and industrial customers in 11 markets: Delaware, Texas, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C. The company serves over 50,000 accounts for customers having a peak demand ranging from 50 KW to more than 200 MW, with an estimated peak load totaling over 8,000 MW.
