ERCOT Independent Market Monitor To Step Down
March 5, 2014
Dan Jones said he is leaving his job as ERCOT independent market monitor, explaining that the move is “the right decision for me and my family at this point in our lives and my career.” He added that his departure after seven years as independent market monitor is unrelated to the ongoing debate in Texas about whether the state’s competitive power generation market needs an overhaul to meet the demands of a growing population. Jones works for Potomac Economics, a consulting firm the Public Utility Commission of Texas hired to oversee grid operations.
