ERCOT Expects Sufficient Resources For Fall, Winter Peak Demand
September 02, 2015
ERCOT expects to have sufficient generation available to serve forecasted peak demands in the upcoming fall and winter months. With more than 77,000 MW of generation available overall, the Texas grid operator foresees that it will be well-prepared for the anticipated peak demand of just under 50,000 MW this fall. In a preliminary report for winter, ERCOT also projected that even during extreme conditions, the region is expected to have sufficient capacity to serve peak demands in the December 2015 to February 2016 winter season.
