ENGIE Tests Business Continuity
December 11, 2023
In early December, ENGIE Resources conducted an emergency drill as part of its business continuity plan for Houston-based operations.
This drill outlined safety protocols and relocation procedures in the event of an emergency. Essential personnel from all areas of the company were involved, including Information Technology, Portfolio Management, Business Controls, Operations, Marketing, and Sales.
Testing these communication protocols ensures roles and responsibilities are defined in the event of a natural disaster.
An ERCOT REP Requirement
The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) requires retail energy providers to develop and maintain an emergency operations plan (EOP) to manage procedures around emergency situations.
Our plan helps ensure that we comply with ERCOT operations requirements and that we are ready to maintain essential business functions for nearly 50,000 retail energy customers across a footprint that extends far beyond Texas.
