April 19 Webinar to Shed Light on Supplier Pricing Strategies in PJM

April 11, 2017

For all the uncertainty driving today’s complex energy environment, there are two things buyers can almost certainly expect: Supplier product offerings may not always be as straightforward as they seem, and the lowest priced proposal may not always result in the lowest cost outcome.

Here is a chance to learn how pricing variables in PJM may be presented in supplier offers. Also gain key insights on how to recognize certain tactics and how to spot the product – and the supplier – delivering the best value at a complimentary webinar hosted by ENGIE Resources on April 19.

The national event, “Be a Better Buyer: Understanding Supplier Pricing Tactics in PJM,” will be held from 11 a.m. to noon CST.

Danielle Wilks, Regional Vice President of PJM, Mid-Atlantic, at ENGIE Resources, and Ken MacMahon, Director of Supply for PJM at ENGIE Resources, will provide information on the following topics:

  • Capacity cost components, including incremental auction impact, PLC tag adjustment, rate adjustment, and capacity performance
  • Transmission variables, such as PLC tag adjustment, rate adjustment, and transmission enhancement charges
  • Energy price factors, including various swing provisions, line loss treatment, imbalance, and operating reserves
  • Regulatory changes, such as the New Jersey Sales Use Tax (SUT), Maryland Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS), and Illinois Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS)

Wilks has more than two decades of energy experience, primarily in competitive wholesale and retail markets. She has a unique understanding of issues impacting the large commercial and industrial sector, and she is well versed in developing structured risk management programs and energy procurement strategies.

MacMahon oversees pricing, structuring, and portfolio management for the seven Mid-Atlantic states as well as Ohio and Illinois. He has worked with ENGIE Resources since the retail business was established in 2002 and has led the PJM supply desk for the last decade.
